New Hand Tools Coming in 2023

Welcome to Tees Valley Tool Works!

Our Story
Tees Valley Tool Works is a 2019 start up company based in the beautiful Tees Valley in the North East of England.

I started this business because I was unable to source some of the tools I wanted at a reasonable price. The tools I wanted were sometimes too expensive second hand, due to rarity, not available second hand and/or no longer available new.

The company’s aim is to provide 21st century high quality versions of some of these original tools. The tools will be made to higher standards and of better materials than the originals and function just as well or better.

Where are we currently
The tool we’re currently working on is based on the Edward Preston (1825-1932) 1399P originally made in 1907. A later version was made by Tyzack until the 1970’s both the Edward Preston and Tyzack versions come up on eBay occasionally but with big price tags.

Our original plans have been severely affected by the COVID pandemic. Access to the support to develop our manufacturing process and capability has been too difficult to make any progress. Also the need to work on other projects to raise the funds for this has taken priority. A major NHS project will run until 2023.

We have our working prototype and the castings and other parts ready for our first 25 tools. We are attending MACH 2022 in Birmingham in April to engage with companies about how best to manufacture our tools.

Realistically we think it will be 2023 before we launch our marketing and  crowdfunding for this project. Thankyou for your patience please still register your interest and we will inform you when progress is made.

    1. Thanks Mark,
Its a slow process getting everything just right so I’m ready to launch it on Kickstarter. If I want to keep the end cost down for the customer I have to make them not only beautiful but as efficiently as possible.

    1. Thanks for the support Ian, please feel free to share in any forums you follow I am trying to build up some interest and traction in advance of launching on Kickstarter.

  3. Hello, I came across your website and wanted to get in touch.

I run an animation studio that makes animated explainer videos helping companies to better explain their offering and why potential customers should work with them over the competition.

This is our portfolio: http://www.story-bite.com/ – what do you think?

Our team works out of Denmark to create high quality videos made from scratch, designed to make your business stand out and get results. No templates, no cookie cutter animation that tarnishes your brand.

I would be very interested in creating a great animated video for your company.

We have a smooth production process and handle everything needed for a high-quality video that typically takes us 6 weeks to produce from start to finish.

First, we nail the script, design storyboards you can’t wait to see animated. Voice actors in your native language that capture your brand and animation that screams premium with sound design that brings it all together.

  6. It would appear, you and I are possibly on track to be rivals or possibly partners. I am in the process of looking to go into production of #71 and possibly 1399Ps along with a more modern design in bronze. It would be interesting to talk to you either through here or UKWorkshops or woodhaven2

    1. The COVID pandemic has hit me quite hard and have had to concentrate on the day job working for the NHS.

So my plans for my tool are on hold at the moment. It will be after April 2022 when I have the funds to carry on, happy to discuss though.
