New Hand Tools Coming in 2020
Welcome to Tees Valley Tool Works!
Our Story
Tees Valley Tool Works is a 2019 start up company based in the beautiful Tees Valley in the North East of England.
I started this business because I was unable to source some of the tools I wanted at a reasonable price. The tools I wanted were sometimes too expensive second hand, due to rarity, not available second hand and/or no longer available new.
The company’s aim is to provide 21st century high quality versions of some of these original tools. The tools will be made to higher standards and of better materials than the originals and function just as well or better.
Where are we currently
The tool we’re currently working on is based on the Edward Preston (1825-1932) 1399P originally made in 1907. A later version was made by Tyzack until the 1970’s both the Edward Preston and Tyzack versions come up on eBay occasionally but with big price tags.
Right now we’re looking towards using crowd funding to create the initial investment into materials, parts and construction. Our initial prototype is ready and went down well when shown at the 2019 Harrogate Show.
UPDATE April 2020
I have run into a few technical and funding issues with getting some additional prototypes completed and have missed my planned launch date for Kickstarter. Now we have COVID 19 to contend with! I am working on things in the background but until the lockdown ends I can not really make much progress. I wish everyone out there teh best of health during this difficult time.
Update August 2020
The COVID crisis continues to cause me issues. Sadly the cancellation of MACH 2020 slowed down my investigations into the best way to manufacture these efficiently. Doing each one manually is just not going to be cost effective although the finish on my prototype is very pleasing. I am still intending to launch the project via Kickstarter but I need to nail the manufacturing processes and costs first so I ensure affordability for me and my customers. Thanks for your support and don’t forget to register your interest below.

Thanks Mark,
Its a slow process getting everything just right so I’m ready to launch it on Kickstarter. If I want to keep the end cost down for the customer I have to make them not only beautiful but as efficiently as possible.
Hello!
Yes, definitely interested in the router plane. Looking forward to supporting you on Kickstarter!!
Ian
Thanks for the support Ian, please feel free to share in any forums you follow I am trying to build up some interest and traction in advance of launching on Kickstarter.
Hello, I came across your website and wanted to get in touch.
I run an animation studio that makes animated explainer videos helping companies to better explain their offering and why potential customers should work with them over the competition.
This is our portfolio: http://www.story-bite.com/ – what do you think?
Our team works out of Denmark to create high quality videos made from scratch, designed to make your business stand out and get results. No templates, no cookie cutter animation that tarnishes your brand.
I would be very interested in creating a great animated video for your company.
We have a smooth production process and handle everything needed for a high-quality video that typically takes us 6 weeks to produce from start to finish.
First, we nail the script, design storyboards you can’t wait to see animated. Voice actors in your native language that capture your brand and animation that screams premium with sound design that brings it all together.
